What we like
- Powerful 2030 psi will clean just about anything you need to at a home
- The five quick connect tips are great, most pressure washer come with just 3 types of nozzles
What we disliked
- Hose reels keep the hose tidy in one place but the hose memory is a killer when you need to unwind it
- There just isn’t enough hose to be useful, you need 25′ minimum, but 30′ would be better

- Onboard hose storage and accessory storage for user convenience
What we like
- There is plenty of cleaning power to clean up those outdoor surfaces with the 2300 PSI output, and the metal spray wand is more durable.
- It might seem odd but the power cord doesn’t have a typical GFCI plug, it has a short extension which makes it much easier to plug into exterior home outlets
What we disliked
- Would like to see a longer hose than 25′ in a higher end electric pressure washer.
- As with most of these pressure washers, the onboard detergent system isn’t great, you can’t see how much water and detergent are in the tank, which makes it a huge pain when you are done with a cleaning solution.

I own the RYOBI 1,600 PSI 1.2 GPM Electric Pressure Washer and love it. This RYOBI pressure washer is great for handling light to light duty tasks like cleaning off furniture and washing the car, which I do quite often. What we like
- Super portable design, much like the Greenworks GPW1501 above, but seems even a little more portable pressure washer.
- Plenty of power to handle light duty tasks like cleaning your grill, patio furniture, or deck. It is also great for washing cars too.
What we disliked
- Just not enough power for serious cleaning tasks, like cleaning a driveway, which is what most folks want to do with a compact pressure washer
- Needs some way to store the sprayer gun other than just laying it on top or to the side when storing the pressure washer.
Greenworks 2000-PSI 1.2-GPM Electric Pressure Washer
Yet another Greenworks pressure washer hits the sweet spot for electric pressure washers. This electric power washer puts out an impressive 2000 PSI, and comes with a cool telescoping handle that helps to move the pressure washer from place to place. It also comes with a hose reel on the back to keep the high-pressure hose in its place during storage.
- 13amp universal motor
- generates 2000 psi and 1.2 gallons per minute flow for maximum cleaning power. PWMA certified
- Functioning high-pressure hose reel
- 35′ power cord (GFCI)
- Metal quick-connect wand comes with 25°, 40°, turbo nozzle, and high-pressure soap applicator
- Telescoping handle and wheels for quick and easy maneuverability
- Hose reel for onboard hose storage
What we like
- It has plenty of PSI power to clean most items at a home, including driveways, cars, and outdoor furniture
- The wheels and telescoping handle are great when moving the pressure washer from location to location.
What we disliked
- Again with the hose reel, I know why companies include them, but they really don’t make much sense because of the hose memory.
- The biggest bummer for this model is that the hose is attached to the pressure washer the hose reel which makes adding an aftermarket hose an impossibility.
Why use an electric pressure washer?
So there are a few reasons why you might want to go the electric route when choosing a pressure washer.
- Less expense. Electric pressure washers or power washers are not as expensive as their gas cousins.
- Less noise. Electric pressure washers electric motors/compressors are only on when you pull the trigger on the pressure washer gun.
- Less maintenance. Electric pressure washers don’t require oil changes, air filters, and fuel filters, like gas pressure washers.
- Easy starting. Gas pressure washers start with a push button or switch. No need to pull repeatedly on a recoil starter.
Electric pressure washers are better than gas pressure washers
So there are a few reasons why I think electric pressure washers are better than gas pressure washers. For one thing, you no longer have to go by gas and maintain it. Running out of gas while pressure washing your deck is a pain. By the way, gas is expensive compared to electrical rates. You also have much less maintenance. No oil changes, no changing air filter or fuel filters.
An electric pressure washer doesn’t stay on all the time, so you only have noise when you are using it. The electric motor only comes on when you engage the trigger on the spray gun. Gas pressure washers engines drone on, all the time. Which not only annoys you but also your neighbors. Electric pressure washers are easy to start as well. All you have to do is plug it into an outlet, and push the power button or switch. It can’t get much easier than that.
I switched to all electric outdoor equipment this past year and haven’t looked back.
Will an electric pressure washer work for me?
Sure they will. Electric pressure washers are great at doing a lot of different cleaning tasks.
- Cleaning and removing stains from driveways
- Washing cars
- Cleaning house vinyl siding and windows
- Cleaning off decks and patios
Electric Pressure washers work
Electric residential pressure washers are just as powerful as their gas cousins. Many come with powerful motors with 1500 – 2000+ psi capacities which are more than enough power to handle most household chores. A brushless motor pressure washer will be effiecnt and powerful. Brushless motors generate enough power to rival gas powered pressure washers. Most electric power washers are lightweight and easy to maneuver.
These power washers come with quick connect nozzles and interchangeable nozzles. The nozzle spray tips, usually come in 0 degree, 25 degree, 45 degree and soap. They either come with carts with wheels or are light enough to carry easily from place to place. Virtually all of the pressure washers come with a soap dispenser or detergent dispenser.
If you are looking for simple operation and amazing features, look no further. Electric pressure washers only require a water source, usually from a regular garden hose, a 120V power source with a GFCI plug, and push of a power button to start.
Disadvantages of an electric pressure washer
The main disadvantage is that electric pressure washers require an electrical outlet. Most of them do come with 35 foot power cords, but you do have to be in the range of a power outlet. So that does affect the mobility of the pressure washer somewhat.
If you have some extreme cleaning, like removing stubborn stains or oil stains from concrete, an electric pressure washer may not work for you. If you require water pressures in excess of 3000 psi, then you need to look elsewhere. Electric pressure washers generally peak at around 2500 psi max.
What features should I look for in an electric pressure washer model?
Here are a few key features that you should look for in a good electric pressure washer model.
- 30+ foot power cord with a GFCI (Ground Fault Circut Interrupt) plug. This is must-have for safety
- 20+ foot long high pressure hose. The longer the better.
- The maximum pressure rating of 1600 – 2000+ PSI . Water stream speeds average 1800 – 2500 PSI
- Multiple quick attach nozzle tips or nozzle attachments
- Ability to apply cleaners either via a siphon hose, onboard soap tank, or detergent applicator.
- Quick connect capability to attach nozzles and attachments.
- Choose a brushless electric pressure washer. Brushless motors are more powerful and efficient.
- Price range from $150 – $350
