There are many different manufacturers of electric and battery powered push mowers.  Here are a few listed below:

After using the LM2114SP, we found its brushless motor offers longer runtimes, low vibration, and impressive durability. The self-propel system can be engaged with either hand via dual levers, providing convenient use for all users. 

We noticed this cordless mower has a solid build, despite being made of plastic rather than traditional metal. We also appreciated how it didn’t skimp on power, producing torque that’s on par with gas-powered mowers. 

In summary, the EGO Power+ LM2114SP is a reliable cordless mower with powerful cutting performance and a decent runtime. For those making the switch from gas mowers, this model is a solid choice, although it takes some getting used to during the blade operation.

Best Battery Powered Riding Mower

This a relatively new category in electric lawn care equipment.  There is only a hand full of manufacturers that have products on the market.  I would consider Ryobi the current leader in this particular category.  Ryobi has both traditional battery powered riding mowers and battery powered zero turn riding mowers.  Yes, you read that right, a battery powered zero turn riding mower.

The Ryobi 42 in. 100 Ah Battery Electric Zero Turn Riding Mower  is the best of the best when it comes to a battery powered zero turn riding mower.  I guess the big thing is that this mower really is in a class by itself, or at least it was.  GreenWorks, EGO, Cub Cadet also have electric zero turns in the residential market.  However, I still stand by my choice because those new mowers aren’t quite consumer tested like the Ryobi.  There are commercial battery powered zero turn riding mowers, but they cost thousands of dollars more than the Ryobi.  I do have to admit, I am a little bias here.  I own this model and it really is a pretty great riding mower.

Now you might be saying to yourself, there is no way this thing can cut up to 3 acres on a single charge.  Well, you would be wrong, it will.  I live in the metro Atlanta, Georgia area, and I have a pretty big yard, with around 2 acres of grass I need to cut.  This mower can handle it with no issues at all.  I will have to say though, it will cut the complete yard when I have the mower set at slow driving speed and slow cutting speed.  The slow driving speed is perfect for my yard since I have plenty of obstacles in my way, and when on high speed this riding mower is very quick thanks to the instant battery powered brushless motors.  The cut from this mower is extremely nice and puts my old Husquvarna to shame.  I cut my mowing time by a third easily with this riding mower.

The only negative thing I would have to say about this battery powered zero turn riding mower would be the cost.  This mower is not cheap, but it comparatively priced to gas powered zero turn mowers.  That being said, I would not hesitate to buy this battery powered zero turn riding mower, it was worth every penny in the time savings and quality of cut.

Honorable Mention: EGO Power + 52 Inch Zero Turn Mower

The EGO Power + 52 Inch Zero Turn Mower is new for 2022, and hasn’t actually been released for purchase when updating this post, but this mower is going to be a game changer in battery powered zero turn mowers.

The mower has some pretty impressive features:

• 52 inch cutting width with mulching, bagging, and side discharge capabilities
• 4-acre runtime with included 12Ah 56v lithium-ion batteries
• Fabricated 10-gauge steel cutting deck
• 4 – 8 MPH running speeds
• 32 led lights from front to rear

• Adjustable seat suspension
• 5 brushless motors for power

I am expecting this model to have a hefty price tag with the six 12Ah batteries, but it will be a mower to be reckoned with in the near future.

Best Electric or Battery Powered Leaf Blower

This is another segment of electric lawn equipment that has really exploded over the last couple of years.  Electric and battery powered leaf blowers are made by pretty much all electric power tool manufactures, and battery technology has really helped these blowers get a foothold into the power tool market.  I love battery powered leaf blowers, for one reason, noise.  If you know anything about gas leaf blowers, you know they are loud.  Electric and battery powered leaf blowers are so much quieter, and the latest models are just as powerful as their gas cousins.

So in the leaf blower market the name of the game is CFM or cubic feet per minute.  What it comes down to is the higher the CFM, the easier it is to move those leaves around your yard.  The Ego has an impressive 580 CFM, which is a lot.  This blower also has a very impressive run time of 3 hours.  I don’t think I got 3 hours of run time out of any gas blower I have ever used.   Another plus is that the 56-volt batteries can be used in other EGO equipment as well if you have other electric lawn equipment from EGO’s 56-volt line.

If there is one negative I can think of for the EGO blower is that it is a little heavy.  That 56 volt while impressive on the power side of things, is heavy.  Like most leaf blowers, you would benefit from a shoulder strap, and luckily this model has an optional strap if you are interested in taking a little of the load off.

 

Best Electric Pressure Washer

Electric pressure washers have come a long way as well in the last couple of years.  The main reason being the adoption of brushless motors, which have allowed for higher PSI output.  I personally have a non brushless Ryobi pressure washer and it is sufficient for washing your car and cleaning off your patio furniture, but if you want to really blast away the grime, you need brushless power.

As far as electric pressure washers the Greenworks 3000 PSI TruBrushless Pressure Washer is the cream of the crop.  This is an excellent pressure washer that boasts brushless power along with a powerful 3000 psi output.  The pressure washer has a nice 25 feet of high pressure kink resistant hose.  It also has quick disconnecting nozzles, which are a must these days with modern electric pressure washers.

Impressed by its power, we found the Greenworks 3000 PSI pressure washer to be an excellent performer for various cleaning tasks. The 14 Amp TruBrushless motor delivers a robust 3000 PSI and 2.0 GPM, providing better than gas performance. 

The pressure washer boasts a rugged design, complete with a metal gun and a 25-FT Uberflex kink-resistant hose. It comes equipped with a variety of accessories, including multiple nozzle tips and a soap dispenser. 

On the downside, some users mentioned that it should not be compared to a gas-powered pressure washer. Nevertheless, it is a reliable and powerful electric pressure washer perfect for various tasks.

Best Electric or Battery Powered String Trimmer

Just like the other categories in this post, electric and battery powered string trimmers have also come a long way in the last couple of years.  The introduction of larger and more powerful lithium-ion batteries and brushless motors has really pushed these trimmers up a notch.  My favorite thing about electric and battery powered string trimmers is the weight reduction from a similarly powered gas model.  I had a 4 cycle string trimmer and it was heavy, really heavy, especially after using it for a little while.  A shoulder strap was a necessity with the gas string trimmer.  The reduction in weight with no loss of power makes electric and battery powered string trimmers a no-brainer.

The Ryobi 40-Volt Lithium-Ion Brushless Electric Cordless Attachment Capable String Trimmer  is our string trimmer of choice.  This a great string trimmer, with both a 13 inch and 15 inch adjustable cutting width with a brushless motor, and a powerful 40v battery.  What puts this trimmer ahead of all the competition is that it is also is attachment cable, which takes this trimmer up a notch in our book.  I personally own the older brushed version of this model and have acquired several attachments such as the leaf blower, pole saw, and brush cutter.  The ability to add attachments is such a huge benefit.

The trimmer is exceptional by itself.  It handles trimming and edging with ease.  What makes it the battery powered string trimmer of choice is the ability to add attachments.  Also, using the 40v battery with any other Ryobi tool is another plus. With the brushless power of this trimmer, combined with attachment capability, you have more than enough power to handle many tasks, from trimming grass, pruning trees, and cutting thicker brush.

Makita XRU15Z LXT Brushless String Trimmer 

Searching for an efficient and powerful cordless string trimmer to keep your garden looking neat and tidy? The (18V X2) LXT Brushless String Trimmer may be the perfect tool for landscaping needs.

Battery powered chainsaws have jumped light years in performance over the last few years.  With larger and more powerful batteries, battery powered chainsaws are really becoming the go-to chainsaw for nonprofessionals.

Homeowners are flocking to battery powered chainsaws because of the ease of use, lower operating noise levels, and power.  Again, I have a battery powered chainsaw that I use and really have no issues accomplishing any cutting task around my home.  I have pecan trees in my yard and they frequently drop large limbs.  I have had no issue chopping these limbs up with my battery powered chainsaw.

The Oregon Cordless 16-inch Self-Sharpening Chainsaw, is the best of the best when it comes to battery powered chainsaws.  It really should be though Oregon has been a top brand in gas powered chainsaws for years.  I think I even had a little plastic toy Oregon chainsaw when I was a kid.

This saw has a lot of great features.  For one thing, it has a large 16″ bar, and a self-sharpening chain.  If you have ever had to deal with sharpening a chainsaw chain, you will know just what a benefit this is.  A brushless motor also powers the saw and has three different battery sizes 2.6ah, 4.0ah, and 6.0ah batteries to help power you through the toughest cutting jobs.

First of all, let me state that I live in the southeastern United States.  If I ever need to use a snow blower, something drastic has happened and I am not sure using the snow blower is going to help the situation.  That being said I have some friends and family living in the northern United States and they complain to me every year about shoveling snow.

• Has 4000 W brushless motor  for the snow blower
• 500 W brushless drive motor to power through the tallest snow
• Six LED headlights
• 180-degree chute rotation
• 2 blade paddle auger which clears and impressive 24 inch wide and 17.5 inches deep on a single pass.

This model is expensive, and heavy which might be it’s only downsides.  The 100V batteries will also be an expensive add-on, if you need to clear more than 3200 square feet that a single charge can handle, and you don’t want to wait for batteries to charge.

Best Electric Chipper Shredder

I am not sure if you are like me, but I have several large trees in and around my yard.  During pretty much any time of the year there are small branches and leaves that need to be picked up and disposed of.  One of the best ways of getting rid of that extra yard debris is with an electric chipper shredder.  The Patriot Products CSV-2515 14 Amp Electric Wood Chipper/Leaf Shredder is the best of the best when it comes to electric chipper shredders.

If you have ever had to split a lot of wood with a maul, then you know why you want an electric log splitter.  Log splitters are a huge time saver and make the task of splitting wood so much more pleasant.  Now if you need some cardio or strength training go ahead and keep swinging.

As far as electric log splitter’s go the WEN 56207 6.5-Ton Electric Log Splitter is the best log splitter we have tested here at The All Electric Lawn.  It may not be the most pricey, but it is the best we have worked with and a bargain under $300.

 

This log splitter has some pretty impressive features that we thought brought it to the forefront of our testing. The powerful hydraulic cylinder can muster up 13000 lbs of force which makes it easy to split larger pieces of wood with ease, and the detachable stand brings the splitting up to a good working height so you aren’t bent over or on your knees splitting wood.

I am going to be the first to admit it, I wouldn’t say I like trimming hedges.  I think it goes back to a time when my dad made me trim the boxwoods around our house and they made such as mess.  Then I grew up and when I purchased my first home, we had boxwoods and I hated trimming those.
